The Foundation
The business was built over 30+ years through handshake deals, long-haul logistics, and deep knowledge of how raw materials move from mine to mill, from field to port.
That foundation is now under new leadership. Vasile Granaci and Pavel Zemlianoi acquired the business and are taking it into a new era. They didn't start from scratch. They bought into something that works, and they're making it work better.

The Thesis
The commodity trading industry is built on relationships, trust, and physical logistics. That doesn't change.
But the infrastructure around it — how prices are discovered, how counterparties are vetted, how documents move, how risk is assessed, how deals close — is stuck in the 1990s.
Quantara is rebuilding that infrastructure layer with AI, digitalization, and modern transaction design, while keeping the core asset intact: direct access to producers and manufacturers.

Vasile leads Quantara's commercial operations — origination, deal structuring, and buyer/seller development across the EU, MENA, and CIS corridors.
Before commodity trading, he built and scaled global sales organisations at Bloomberg, Vonage (acquired for $6.2B), ByteDance/TikTok, and MessageBird, driving $500M+ in ARR across 125+ person teams with 50%+ YoY growth. His background spans fintech, AI, and enterprise SaaS, with deep expertise in structuring cross-border commercial relationships.

Pavel Zemlianoi

Pavel runs Quantara's operations, logistics execution, compliance infrastructure, and the AI systems that power the desk.
His career bridges counterparty risk (Stroygazmontazh — financial analysis, fraud detection, supplier due diligence), enterprise data and AI (SoDa — lakehouse platforms, analytics, and AI implementation for MEA enterprises), and six years of commercial execution at Vonage across London, Dubai, and CIS markets. He also co-founded Specialscomedy.com, scaling it to 150K+ monetised users.
